Happy New Year!! I hope everyone had an awesome Christmas and New Years.

I’m so sorry these updates have been few and far between! I’ve been meaning to make a decent update to confirm the status of MAiZ and the progress with volume 2.

First of all being that MAiZ will continue! It just took a far longer hiatus than I ever intended, due to a lot of personal stuff last year. And volume 2 will slowly get back into development for it’s full colour release later this year.

In May of last year, I decided to put MAiZ on hold while I spent time working on colouring volume 2, and plotting out the next chapter of the story. My hope was to get volume 2 completed and printed in time for Supanova Sydney around June.

Of course, that didn’t happen.

A was a little overwhelmed when I drew this last year, but I’ve been doing a lot better now.

From there, 2019 turned into a mess: a combination of lots of work stress, battling with rather intense anxiety and a nice dose of relationship troubles that made everything, especially creating art outside of work, very difficult. I felt bad for not returning to the comic sooner, but I knew I couldn’t handle everything and the comic on top of it without it losing quality, or worse burning me out. I’ve seen it happen too often in the past with other artists and creators.

I did however receive a lot of great support from people, even amazing fan art, that helped remind me that MAiZ still has people interested in Meli, Jaz and their story. It’s heartwarming each and every time!

And now, after having spent the last few months recovering and restoring myself, I want 2020 to see the return of MAiZ with chapter 12!! It’s time to get back into Meli and Jaz’s journey and finally see Meli kick some serious butt!

I want to thank everyone for their patience and support, and I’m so sorry it’s taken so long. While I’m still not very good at doing updates, I will do my best to be more forthcoming in future.

The support and kind words I got from the last picture really helped me out

Hopefully this year for everyone will be amazing! (pun intended)
